Welcome To ADHD Counselling.uk
This website was founded by necessity, and from my own experiences seeking adhd and neurodivergent support.
Like many of the stories I have heard in my work with adhd clients, my own adhd went somehow undetected until a combination of luck, timing, and stumbling across some information led to a diagnosis with the words “…David, this wasn’t a particularly difficult diagnosis to make”. I sought counselling support, but found only long waiting lists, opportunistic so-called adhd ‘coaches’, and an alarming lack of understanding of the condition.
As a BACP and NCS-registered counsellor myself, my openness about my diagnosis has seen me contacted by more people seeking adhd support than I could ever accommodate, each affected in their own way, but joined by stories of sadness, anger, unfulfilled potential and feelings of alienation.
This website contains information about adhd and a directory of counsellors personally screened by me for either their lived or working experience of adhd and neurodiversity. I have designed this website to be as simple and ADHD-friendly as possible, but if you have any feedback, please send an email – i’m always looking to make the site as straightforward and accessible to adhd and neurodivergent people as possible.
If you’re here to learn more about adhd, head to our ‘about‘ page. it’s packed with information about the condition, while the ‘resources‘ page has some really useful adhd tools.
Thanks for visiting,
